SCAA 30th National Juried Exhibition

posted in: Fine Art 0

I am thrilled to share that one of my fine art images has been accepted into the South Cobb Arts Alliance 30th National Juried Exhibition. The show is being held at the Mable House Arts Center and runs from August 14th – September 20th. The Arts Center is open Monday through Thursday 9am – 5pm (free admission). The Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 19th from 5-7pm. The show includes 65 works from 51 artists from across the country. It’s incredible to have the work of so many talented national artists here in Mableton, Georgia, and it is such an honor to be included among them.

In addition, I will be participating in a Community Open House & Panel Discussion at the Mable House Arts Center on Monday, August 21st from 7-9pm. The panelists are: Maria Sarmiento, NJE 2016 judge; Nikki Davidson (Oil artwork), Kelley Krohnert (Photography), Dan Garcia (Colored Pencil and Acrylic). We will be discussing the entering and judging for a national juried competition, as well as our background as artists and details about our artwork. This even is supported in part by a grant to the SCAA from the National Endowment for the Arts.

I invite you to attend either the reception or panel discussion. Of course, you can also stop by and see the exhibit another time at your convenience.

Below is the image that I have in this year’s SCAA National Juried Competition.

Fine art macro image of green palm frond
“Radiance”

This image was taken in Cocoa Beach, Florida, while exploring with my camera and macro lens. I saw an interesting palm frond and wanted capture it in a creative way. I love the blur and the color variations of the lines. I printed this on a pearl fine art paper, and I think the sparkle of the paper really brings out the magic in this image.
