This was my first tech tip, and one of the most important. If you don’t follow any of my other recommendations, please, PLEASE, put a good backup system in place. A photographer friend just had a hard drive fail this past weekend, but because she had a full backup locally and online, she didn’t lose anything important. Without a solid backup system, you can lose so much in the blink of an eye.

This tech tip is really helpful when printing images or providing images to clients. Even seasoned photographers get confused by crop ratios sometimes. Read this if you have any questions about cropping or printing images.

If you use Adobe Lightroom, taking an organized approach to setting up your catalog (or catalogs) is so important. Find out all the reasons I recommend having only one Lightroom catalog, and a few reasons why you shouldn’t.

 

One question almost every Lightroom user has at some point is: “Why is my Lightroom so slow?” This tip will help you speed up your editing work by using a new feature in Lightroom to make the Develop module quicker than ever.
